If you’re looking for something specific, let us know!
Once you’ve found a dog that you’d like to adopt, fill out the adoption application, also located here. Adopter candidates are required to complete and submit an adoption application that will be reviewed by Underdogs Animal Rescue staff members. We will try to respond to all applications in a timely manner. Please allow up to two weeks to hear back from us. We are a completely volunteer-based organization and we appreciate your patience.
If your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet with the current foster family, the potential adopters, and the dog(s). We request that all members (human and canine) of the adoptive family be present for the meet and greet!
After the meet & greet we will schedule a home visit. Don’t worry, you don’t have to clean for us! We just want to be sure the pup will be placed in a home that is dog ready! Please note, if you are in a rented home, we may need to contact your landlord or verify that your lease allows dogs.
If you already have existing pets (dogs or cats), we ask that the pets are properly introduced by an Underdogs Animal Rescue member and the adopter. This just ensures that the first meeting goes a bit more smoothly, and that you are set up for long term success!
