It's "Mr. Steal Your Girl", Jerry!
After running from Animal Control for 3 days, Jerry finally made his way to Underdogs with badly burned paw pads, lots of scaries, and struggling to understand he was truly safe. Though Jerry is BIG on showing love to his current humans and foster sister, Duckie, he's been very slow to open up and show us his full personality. He is a true "velcro dog", wanting to make sure he knows where everyone is all the time and is a very close talker (which is probably so he's at the ready when he wants to give kisses - which is always).
At 4 years old and 75lbs, Jerry thinks himself of a lap dog and has been working hard on training at his foster house. He's mastered "sit", loves the dog door, and is just figuring out how to curb his next level excitement when he thinks it's time to go for a walk or ride. Jerry would do best in a home with older children, mostly since he just doesn't know his size, but will offer up his belly to just about anyone he meets.
Jerry is absolute perfection and is working hard on some reactivity with other dogs (cats are a no go for this sweet boy) - while not all other dogs are his favorite, he absolutely adores his foster sister so it just needs to be the right fit. He showers his foster sister with kisses, cuddles and loves to accompany her when she gets the zoomies - the boy just loves to love!
Jerry loves to learn so a confident owner who is dedicated to continuing his training would make him the happiest guy ever. He's a pretty snoozy hippo who isn't bothered if he doesn't have a ton of physical activity, enjoying daily walks which lead to big naps, being mostly happy with pets from his humans and sunbathing like the Adonis that he is.
Jerry is neutered, up-to-date on basic vaccinations and microchipped. Our Underdogs adult dog adoption fee is $300, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
If you're interested in adopting Jerry, please fill out an adoption application here: https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/
