Our sweet guy Freckles, with the most beautiful brown eyes, came into the shelter covered in scabs. Even his tongue has a chunk cut out. His face and legs were literally covered in them, and his back had been shaved for unknown reasons. However, in spite of the obvious horrors he’d endured, his personality and sheer love of everyone he met just shined from him. With lots of love and soothing baths, his scabs became scars, and now his hair is growing over those scars to reveal a beautiful, shiny brindle boy on the outside to match his super shiny insides!

Freckles also has a heart full of worms and was temporarily in Little Rock, Arkansas, while he underwent heartworm treatment. Now that he’s finished, he's traveled to the Underdogs in Colorado and he’s ready for a home to call his very own!  He’s about 2 years old, with the sweetest, goofiest personality. At 45 lbs, he’s the perfect size for a couch buddy or a hiking pal. He loves both!

Freckles is crate trained and house trained and loves everyone he ever meets, canine and human. Because of his past, Freckles can somtimes be afraid of new dogs, but does great after proper introductions.

Freckles LOVES everything about being a Colorado Underdog! He’s never met a baby gate he can’t jump over, and he’d just as soon join you on the couch by jumping over the back as the front. He’s completely unfamiliar with personal space, and will want to be in yours with you as much as possible. He’s a people person. One more thing, he has the cutest wide set eyes that make him resemble a catfish, and his ears like to flop back on their own all willy nilly like. He’s so incredibly special and is hoping for very own home for the holidays!
