DJ found himself in a Texas shelter due to no fault of his own. When his time ran out due to space, Underdogs stepped in to spare his life and brought this adorable boy up to Colorado to have a a 2nd chance at living and finding his forever home. An amazing foster family opened their home and their hearts to him and has stated:
DJ is the sweetest and most gentle boy. He is about 2 years old (estimated) and some kind of lab/shepherd mix. Whatever mix he is created quite the adorable guy! He can be shy at first but warms up pretty quickly and likes to snuggle or at least be near his people or pet friends. He is working on crate training, walking on the leash and basic commands- and while he hasn’t mastered these yet, he’s on his way! He is potty trained and learns pretty quickly to abide by house rules (e.g. not getting on the furniture). He really enjoys playing with his foster brother and may benefit from having another dog in the home for companionship.
In addition to having another canine companion, he would do best in a mature and mellow household without tiny children until he has gained more confidence. He does ok being alone in the home as long as he has another caninie compaion to keep him company but would prefer a family or owner who has more time to spend with him than not. He also would benefit from an owner who will continue his training using lots of positive reinforcement only.
